Statistically, Black men live 7.1 years less than any other racial group and have higher death rates than women for all leading causes of death. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the death rate for African American males is higher than whites for heart diseases, stroke, cancer, asthma, pneumonia, and diabetes.
Rather than ignore these facts, once again, Andrew walked the talk! Action always speaks louder than words. On Saturday, August 4, 2018, an action-oriented Jackson joined other Cleveland personalities including Wayne Dawson, Co-Anchor Fox 8 News in the Morning; Julian Glover, Co- Anchor, Cleveland 19 Morning News; and Coach Ted Ginn, Sr., Ginn Academy by participating in The National African American Male Wellness Walk.
“I am happy to commit my time, energies, and resources to a community event that encourages Black males to monitor their health,” Jackson said. The National African American Male Wellness Walk provided a number of free health screenings.
Jackson, alongside hundreds of other participants, demonstrated his support for another worthy cause.
